The Centre for Climate Change Resilience and Sustainable Livelihoods (CCCRSL) channels its deep expertise into targeted, high-impact regions in Kenya’s Rift Valley Region.
Our Current Strategic Focus
Turkana County
Our foundational work here, including major WASH project baselines and irrigation assessments for partners like World Vision, gives us deep, practical expertise in building water security and livelihood resilience in arid lands.
Elgeyo Marakwet County
We have a proven track record in this county, having conducted key Environmental & Social Impact Assessments (ESIA) for the county government and developed their monitoring frameworks, demonstrating our strength in environmental governance and compliance.
West Pokot
Leveraging our extensive Rift Valley experience, we bring specialized knowledge in developing resilient livelihoods and managing cross-border community dynamics in arid and semi-arid regions.
Trans Nzoia & Uasin Gishu Counties
Our national-level project experience in Kenya’s agricultural heartland provides inherent, strategic expertise in agricultural value chain analysis and climate-smart agro-economic planning.
Our National Legacy & Reach
Central Kenya
Our deep expertise in highland agricultural systems is proven through work like developing a national Climate-Smart Strategy for Kenya’s Tea Sector with the FAO. We excel in climate adaptation and community-based project evaluations in this key economic region.
Eastern Kenya
We specialize in building resilience in semi-arid lands, with a strong focus on water security and food systems. This is demonstrated by our leadership in the multi-partner project “Enhancing Food and Water Security for Rural Economic Development,” which delivered critical drought resilience programming across the region.
Coast Region
We possess direct experience in coastal environmental management and community development, having successfully executed multiple projects. This includes significant contributions to the large-scale Restore Africa project in Kwale and Kilifi, focusing on landscape restoration and sustainable livelihoods.
National & Cross-County Scale
We have a proven, strategic capacity for large-scale analysis and institutional strengthening. Our portfolio includes foundational work like the “Baseline of Tea Industry Performance in East Africa” for the EATTA and developing a comprehensive County Monitoring & Evaluation Framework for Elgeyo Marakwet County government.
